Here at Niagara College we like to focus on hands on training,
in this case with horticulture. Students grasp subjects by the
roots!
The horticulture program is a two year program featuring a co-op
placement after second semester. The Glendale Campus (Niagara-on-the-Lake) offers students
the opportunity to use the campus grounds, greenhouses and interior
plant display as learning tools. The Niagara region offers many
off-campus laboratory sessions and interesting field trips to
benefit students.
The Greenhouse Centre is located at the Glendale campus of Niagara
College in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake. Students cultivate
plants of many varieties year round that are sold to the public
and used to beautify the 68 acre Glendale campus. All plants are
grown by students and all plant sale revenues are used to support
the educational programs at Niagara College.
